Safe, supportive

Star Academy is a safe supportive and welcoming place for children and families. We are an approved supervised visitation provider in South Carolina.

We are all about supporting our local families, especially children. Star Academy offers court-ordered monitoring and custody exchanges to ensure a safe environment for parent-child contact. We allow families to schedule their supervised visit with us and get to play with their children under our supervision.

Private & Group Tutoring Services

We offer individual and group tutoring and academic support by highly qualified teachers and educators. Our services are for those in homeschool programs or traditional schools in need of supplemental help in different subject areas. 
 
Please choose the subject and grade level you need, preferred time and day.  One of our teachers or staff will contact you to schedule.

Professional Development

Our Professional Development services are designed to support educators, administrators, therapists, support staff and community professionals with practical tools they can apply immediately in their work.
 
We provide customized trainings, workshops and consultation based on the specific needs of each school, program or organization. Topics may include classroom behavior management, Applied Behavior Analysis strategies, social-emotional learning, inclusion, developmental needs, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, de-escalation, communication support and creating safe, supportive learning environments.
 
Training may also focus on understanding challenging behaviors, collecting and using data, implementing behavior plans, supporting students with disabilities, improving collaboration with families and strengthening communication among team members.
 
Professional development can be offered in person or virtually and may include single workshops, ongoing training series, staff coaching, classroom observations and follow-up consultation. Each training is designed to be interactive, relevant and tailored to the population being served.
 
Our goal is to help professionals feel more confident, prepared and connected while building stronger programs and better outcomes for the children, families and communities they support.

Our Consultation and Support services are designed for families, educators, schools and community programs seeking professional guidance, practical strategies and collaborative problem-solving.
 
Our team provides educational consulting, behavior consultation, BCBA support, parent coaching, classroom observations, program development, crisis intervention planning and professional collaboration. We help identify areas of concern, develop individualized recommendations and create clear action plans that can be used across home, school and community settings.
 
Consultation may also include guidance related to occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language needs, counseling services, social-emotional development, Applied Behavior Analysis, functional behavior assessments, behavioral screenings, testing and referrals for additional services when needed.
 
Schools and organizations may partner with us for student support, staff consultation, crisis response planning, suicide prevention support and customized professional development. Training may address classroom management, de-escalation, inclusion, ABA-based strategies, social-emotional learning, developmental needs and creating safe, supportive environments.
 
Whether you need help addressing a specific concern or ongoing professional support, our team works alongside you to provide direction, strengthen collaboration and create a path toward meaningful progress.

HOOK for Families is our nonprofit initiative dedicated to connecting individuals and families with the support, resources and opportunities they need to grow, learn and thrive.
 
Our mission is to remove barriers by providing access to educational programs, family support, vocational opportunities, life-skills training, and meaningful community experiences. We are giving people of all ages the opportunity to socialize in an all-inclusive environment (Hang Out for Older Kids). 
 
We serve children, adolescents, adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and families who may benefit from additional guidance, advocacy, or financial assistance.
 
Programs may include parent education, social-emotional support, daily living skills, vocational preparation, community-based activities, wellness programs, workshops, and access to professional services. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, local businesses and service providers, we help families connect with the resources best suited to their needs.
 
Funding donations, sponsorships, grants and community fundraising helps make programs and services more accessible to families who might otherwise be unable to participate.
