STAR Academy – Sensory Teaching And Recreation – was founded on the belief that play is vital for development. Research shows that active play prepares children for school and beyond. Our sensory playground and learning center offers two locations in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, each outfitted with state-of-the-art sensory equipment, furniture, and toys that are hand-designed and built by a specialist sensory-gym company.

We provide a warm, welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children of all ages and abilities can play, learn, and have fun. Our play sessions engage multiple senses, spark imagination, and encourage creativity. Our team partners with local businesses, specialists, educators, and therapists to offer support, classes, and programs for families.

STAR Academy also collaborates with churches and schools to host field trips and professional-development opportunities.

Program Highlights

Baby & Me / Baby Stars (Ages 6 mo–5 yrs)

Caregivers and little ones play together with sensory toys, music and movement in our sensory playground.

Blast Off – Toddler Fridays (Ages 1 yr+)

Weekly themed sessions with story time, music, movement and art; includes plenty of sensory play and fun.

Little Star Mornings (Ages 1.5–3 yrs)

Early-development mornings focused on socialization, gross- and fine-motor skills, and independence.

Shining Stars Preschool (Ages 2.5–5 yrs)

Half-day preschool emphasizing early learning, creativity and kindergarten readiness.

Star Learning Center

Academic tutoring, handwriting training and sensory-learning evaluations by qualified educators and therapists.

Open Play Sessions

Unstructured play in our sensory gym with foam pit, climbing wall, slides, swings, puzzles, kinetic sand and cozy “chill-out”.

Use our online booking to reserve open play, classes or a private party.

2. Check In & Prepare
